Rio movie has 15th of April in 2011 set as the release date for adventure and comedy packed animation which means that Rio movie will certainly provide a  wide audience a most enjoyable time. Rio is a 3D computer-animated film directed by Carlos Saldanha and written by Don Rhymer (creators of Ice Age). The characters are voiced by Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway, Rodrigo Santoro, Bebel Gilberto, Kate del Castillo, Jamie Foxx, will.i.am, Tracy Morgan, George Lopez, Jake T. Austin, Leslie Mann, Jemaine Clement, Jane Lynch, and Robin Thicke.

Under development for years, Rio is considered “Brazilian-born Saldanha’s dream project”. Saldanha reported that the film will be more musical than his comedic Ice Age movies.

The story is about Blu (Jesse Eisenberg), a rare species of blue Spix’s macaw resident at a bookstore in Moose Lake, Minnesota, who is the last of his kind. When scientists learn that another macaw was spotted in South America and that the macaw, Jewel (Anne Hathaway) is female, they take him out of Minnesota and send him to Rio de Janeiro to meet her. While there, he learns to confront his fear of flying in order to win her heart. Along the way, they get kidnapped by poachers to sell them to get a fortune. After they escape, they try to avoid the thieves and their pet Sulphur-crested Cockatoo Nigel (Jemaine Clement) with help from Rafael, a wise Toco Toucan (George Lopez); Luiz, a bulldog (Tracy Morgan); Linda, Blu’s owner (Leslie Mann); Flora, a Roseate Spoonbill (Wanda Sykes); Fernando, a teenage boy (Jake T. Austin); Pedro, a Red-crested Cardinal (will.i.am); and Nico, a small yellow canary (Jamie Foxx).

On 19 February 2011 is the largest covered bird market in Europe back in place in the IJsselhallen in Zwolle, the Netherlands. Bird lovers can spend hours wandering along the trestles, containing tens of thousands of legal birds for sale. The great interest from abroad, notably Belgium, Germany, Italy, England and Denmark, shows that the bird market Zwolle has internationally a high reputation. The bird organization De Volièrevriend (The Aviary Friend), will this time again manage to attract fans outside the national borders to get to Zwolle. The market exists of an area of approximately 10,000 m2 and 2,600 linear meters of trestles. The huge variety of birds will deliver the fans an unforgettable day out. Jan 2011 – In a few days the world championship of farmed birds will open its doors to the heart of France. From 28-30 of January more than 30.000 visitors of which mainly breeders will show up in Tours.

The show is organized by the Organizing Committee of World COM (UOF – COM – France) 2011.  This 59th World Championship bird cage and aviary will be held at exhibition center Expo Park in Tours in halls A and B. From January 24 to 26 (private) and 28 to 30 January 2011 (general public).

Sept 2010 – There are a lot of homemade diets for feeding chicks, but these need to be critically assessed as to their suitability. What is OK for a near-fledged cockatoo is not suitable for a week-old lorikeet. Baby cereals, by themselves, are not an adequate diet for any bird.

Sept 2010 – On Sunday October 10 2010, the “PARROT DAY” in Belgium is organized for all breeders, enthusiasts and owners of parakeets and parrots, but also for and with all associations, groups and forums who wish to participate. We focus on the breeders, lovers of living birds and those interested in the protection of parrots in their natural habitat. This big event takes place in the Olmense Zoo (www.olmensezoo.be) and will consist of a varied and well-filled program.

For this day, a unique cooperation with numerous organizations and others that are in some way committed to the breeding, keeping and preservation of parrots and parakeets. Never before have so many organizations worked together on a common goal! Nutrievo is fully represented this day with a booth in order to inform all parrot lovers attending the day about the latest innovation in parrot food: OptiBird.

n the large screening room (Room Yensa’ka, up to 180 persons) are all-day long lectures. In a smaller room (up to approx 60 people), participating forums, working groups and associations have a meeting place or time to organize information. At the same time, partners and children van visit the Olmense Zoo. There are also continuous guided tours through the park. Starting and closing time will take place in the circus tent (up to 900 people). This program enables participants to choose which activities they wish to participate.

Part of the fees go directly to the World Parrot Trust. (World Parrot Fund) This organization helps to maintain more than thirty endangered species of parrots and parakeets in nature and welfare of countless pet parrots. Their quarterly magazine is published as PsittaScene.
